Does anyone know some sites with pictures of female Bettas? I haven't had luck with males so I am thinking about getting a female. I just want to see some pictures of some good looking female bettas, so I know what I should buy and what I shouldn't.

I don't know of any sites specifically with female betta pics. A lot of people have posted pics of theirs here.

My girls:

Calliope She's representative of my 'red' girls... there's three, each with different washes of color. As you can see, Calliope has a blue wash. Clio has green and Euterpe has purple.

Thalia Thalia and Erato are almost identical, except that lovely Thalia has a darker pink "mask" over her face while Erato just has darker "lips."

Polyhymnia Her fins actually look like they've been dipped in magenta paint, though this picture doesn't show it well.

Rania She's a bit beat up at the moment... just rescued her from being picked on at the LFS. Poor thing. Not a great picture... sorry.

My girls are completely curious and are truly camera hogs. You can't take a picture of anything else without them getting in the way. On the other hand, my digital camera just doesn't like focusing on a fish that insists on practically dancing in front of the camera.

I do adore my girls... they're probably my favorite of all the fish I have.

Is there a way to tell if the female's tail is still growing?
