I was devastated when I finally realized that I was going to have to get rid of my 20 gallon community because nobody else in the fam. wanted to take care of it when I go off to college this fall... but my lfs took all my fish and that was that. In about 2 days my betta tank was all set up. A simple 1.6 gal. hex decorated with a java fern inside a margherita glass. Since it was my first betta (since maybe when I was 5) I decided to get a viel tail. He is quite enjoyable and now the only reason I am devastated is because I dont think I'll be able to get to try and breed him. He is a very handy bubble nest builder.
I named him Aquaflow... I sure do love bettas

You won't be able to breed him in a 1.6 gallon, that's for sure!

Congratulations on your new fishy. They are very addictive. As my poor bank account realises.

I am feeling the addiction. As long as I decide not to do any breeding (even though I want to) my bank account should be OK.

Addictive, that's a fact

A while ago I had 6, which at that point was the most I'd ever had at one time. When I got down to 1 I said no more, especially since I was getting into bigger tanks then. Now I'm back up to 9 I'm proud to say though that my last 2 trips to the lfs have resulted in no new betta acquisitions

New to Bettas here my self. The wife got one at work a few months ago to releive stress.... and now she has 2 there and we have 12 here.

We have them everywhere :%). Every day there's a few to clean. I had to use a calendar to jot down who's got cleaned that day. I'd hate to loose track and have one go longer then it should

I'm sure that when we figure out where to put more or get a bigger apartment we'll get more. Everyone thinks we're :%)
