If that's 42 watts of fluorescent, or compact fluorescent lighting then you should be able to grow just about anything you want in there. However, with all that light comes the need to be more careful about nutrients. Having DIY CO2 is great, just try to keep the output up and as consistant as you can. Nitrates and Phosphates might become used up, so make sure you have a source for that and know how to dose it and how much. If you have any more questions be sure to ask

well its the normal 15watt flourecent that comes with the standard 10gall kit (execpt I changed that light out with a plant light), then I have two extra lights with the screw in compacts..., both 13watts each.
then I (have not gotten yet, still waiting for payday ) but I will be doseing flourish, Flourish Nitrogen, Flourish Iron, and stuff along those lines

I would try to find plants with very small leaves. This will help make the tank look larger. For example, try Anubias Nana or Nana Petite in stead of the normal Barteri.

You might want to try Flourish Excel as a suplement to your CO2 in case you don't want to mess with the DIY. Though DIY in a 10g should work well.

Keep us posted and show pictures if you can.

With all that ligh, make sure you hurry and plant the thing top to bottom. Without plants growing in there algae will probably have a good ole time soon. The other thing I forgot to mention is to make sure to pick up some fast growing stem plants. At least for the first few weeks as they tend to help combat algae while eerything settles in.

The DIY rig looks good, and you're right, the tank just needs plants, good luck.
