i guess you could float them in the bag for a min or 2 if you want but anubias is pritty hardy. I got a anubias over a year ago put it in and have split it like 7 times since then. If you going to put it on bog wood use fishing line. I used cotten thread first time the thread breaks after 1 week. I have never bothered but that just me and my plants have never died. Good luck

I just rinse the plants I buy in some permanganate & then rinse them again under running water. I don't acclimize them the the tank & all I do is plant them.

With Anubias I use fishing line to attach it with DW & it works fine, but I also use cotton thread & it works fine as well.

I've just started my tanks in Nov, but read early on that some folks recommend you: float the plants in the bags for about 15 min, then rinse them with used tank water, then free float them in the tank for however long you feel. I have floated mine for a few hours to a day (depending on how lazy I am). I'm constantly cutting my anacharis and cabomba. They grow like weeds and the fish love um!

I rinse mine under cold tap water and try to manually remove any snail eggs and the rock wool some are shipped in. Then I put them in the tank and let them float around for about a week before planting. I've had much better success with several species that way than planting immediately, although anubias I don't think would have any problem if you fastened it to something right after cleaning it off.

Hi,
Whenever you uproot a plant and move it, it has to
readjust to its new environment. Sometimes that can
even include moving it from one part of a tank to another.

When you uproot the plant you tear off the finer roots.
When you change tanks you should plan on the plant loosing
its larger, older, leaves as it redirects its stored
nutrients to growing new roots and new leaves (getting acclimated.)

As far as actually growing attached to the driftwood or
rock, it can take a month or two depending on the health
of the plant, the light, and the available nutrients.

Frank
