Hi,
Many small new plants have grown at the tips of java fern (Windelov (sp.)) leaves. They have also started growing roots now. Should I detach them from the mother plant? How large should they be before being removed to survive alone?
Thanks.

Don't detach them, When they are ready they will detach themselves. I made that mistake already and lost quite a few before I learned.

I have detached them without any problems many times. Just tie them to some drift wood or a rock and generally they would be fine. I would not remove them while tiny, just because that makes them more difficult to handle. I do generally let nature take its course, though, and they do detach on their own.

Good luck.

Thanks very much.
The largest ones have 1.5" leaves. I'll try detaching them and leave the smaller ones attached.
