Ok here's the deal, I bought a plant from a real LFS, not a chain LFS, and I guess it had spoars of hair algea on it. I figure this out because i generally order plants online and no other tank except this one has this problem and that plant is the only one from unknown plant supplier and the problem started days after introducing it. Anyhow, I going to have break down the tank and wash everything in bleach water to get rid of it. It a lost causes at this point everyday i have to remove mass amounts of algea. So some of the plants were kind of hard to find so I would like to save them if at all possible by giving them a bleach bath also. My first thought is why they are going to die,so shut up spend the money and buy new ones. Has anyone tried or have any experience in correcting this problem.

interesting

There is an article that might be interesting to read.

If you are serious about removing 100%,it will not only involve cleaning the plants but every thing in the tank.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

The ameca splendens would do be a good choice if you had an tank to hold them in when there wasn't an out break. Thes fish become aggressive as they get older, if you read further down in that article there is mention of this. If your looking for a good community fish that eats hair algea. the florida flag fish. I breed them but I was tring do do something else with this tank. It didn't workout for as it has for others. I'm just tring to save the plants the complete make over is the fun part.

Thanks for the input, I'm doing alot research now so this was a good article for me to read.
