Gang,

As you probably noticed by now, I am no longer updating my logs. Having limited time to take weekly pictures, having not much of a constructive response (exceptions are given, you should know who you are), and being bored of them, contributed to this decision, as well as the fact that the longer logs have images missing in the middle sections, although all have been uploaded to FP (don't want to argue the point of "thread not updated in a while" as this is not the case here).

In short, that phase is over.

Instead, I will write new threads once in a while, just to let you folks know what I am up to. These threads will then also dissapear over time and are not intended to be maintained for longer durations (Q & A is ok though, for a few weeks at least).

Hope you all understand, besides Garry nobody would read my 500 page log anyway.

Next post is the first of the "New Style"

Ingo

In no particular order, let's take a look at the tanks:

First up is the 29G, currently in pretty bad shape. My experiment with having hair algae growing on the branches did not turn out too well, hahaha.

So, I let it be for now, sure do I do the occasional water change, and maybe even fert the tank, but that's about it.

Note: the platies have been moved in this tank

On to the 125G:

Here, not much has happened, the tank sees the occasional trimming, but not so often that the tank would look "show-worthy" each and every week.

I added a hand full of Dwarf Chain Loaches a few weeks back, nice little fishies. I also added the Amanos from the 20G into this tank.

Here is the 20G:

The reason why I had to move fish and critters to other tank is rather obvious when looking at this tank, it has been redone 2 weeks ago and does not have any animals in it yet.

I recently became more fascinated by rocks and as such started to play with integrations of rock-heavy scapes. This is the first trial.

The tank is still a low tech tank, though.

Ingo i really like the look of the 125g tank! the 20g is nice, but it looks like a vitually designed tank... i am sure somebody knows what i mean... you drag and drop the plants and drift woods and etc to design a tank... well it looks too unreal to me... maybe once there is fish and stuff in there it will look a bit more real. I do like the hardscape though! those are lovely rockas and a very nice layout of the tank. I also like the layout of the 29g... it is nice in its own way, but i do not like the red backdrop...it does make the plants pop, but it pulls away fromt he color of the fish and thats what aquariums are for right? in short, the 125g is my favorite currently...

And because I had some rocks left, and because I had some trimming to do in the 40G, I set up this 2.5G tank as well, not a beauty, but it will help me refine my skills (that I obviously don't have yet, haha) for Nano Tanks.

I try to add this post now for the 3rd time already, but it hangs constantly on the image upload.

Last but not least, here is the 40G:

I have added 18 Ember tetras and about 15 Minami shrimp to this tank a few weeks back, by now I have the first set of baby shrimp ever, in any tank, haha.

The HC is growing very well, it stopped for a while and I identified that the magic of the AquaSoil had run its course and the tank needed fert additions.

Ok gang, that is it for now, hope you like it.

As usual, have fun,

Ingo

I also like the last two.. the 40g and the 2.5g

you should put more ember tetras intot he 40g as they dont occupy much of the tank, but it looks nice.. the 2.5g is very nice and i really like it...its like a refined and realistic version of the 20g!

LF,

Glad to see you back in action!! I have for sure missed the tank updates but I understand how time consuming it can be and how far people will read into them.

Comments:
29G ~ Most definitively overgrown but the plants look pretty healthy. What are the plants? Just westeria and HM?

125G ~ Not too much has changed. Everything again looks extremely healthy. I especially like your Alternanthera reineckii. Mine has started to grow in but it doesn't look nearly as nice as yours.

20G ~ Very nice layout. It looks a little computer generated but I think once it grows in a bit it will look a little more natural.

2.5G ~ This one does not have the same charm as the the big brother 20G. I have found small tanks hard to manage. I am sure you will figure it out though.

40G ~ Now this tank has it going on. Very natural! I do think a few more fish would look nice but I understand you probably don't want to overstock the tank. Also congrats on the baby shrimp. Do you have any closeups?

I only found this thread today. I see already, your pictures are gone

I'll be sure to watch this thread now, in case you post more pictures later.

Keep well, Ingo

EDIT: Yippee - the pictures are here again. Not sure why I couldn't see them before. Will have a close look now.

EDIT 2: I'm stunned. Simply beautiful. I find no fault & love them all. Those rocks are really beautiful. I can see why you've become more interested in rocks, since you have found such great specimens.

Cheers

Thanks for finding this Robyn, I never saw it with my move going on.

Glad to see you are still working on some nice tanks, even if you aren't as active here Ingo .

Ingo ...Glad to see your still thinking of new ways to stun us with your style and daring . The results in the 20g and 40g are fantastic. I know what you mean about Rocks and I love the red rocks ( well I would )
The Nano has possibilities and I'm sure you will exploit them over time .
The Big Tank looks as stunning as ever if a bit overgrown ...but I know that feeling
BTW ...this is a great way to keep us all informed ...so quick and easy ...well done .

I look forward to your next update

Garry
