I am looking for a backing plant for the 32lt Betta tank. The area to be planted is 270mm x 50mm. The maximum height must not be over 180mm. I am looking for fine leafed dark green plants also easy/medium to grow. The tank has Anubias nana, Crypt Parva and Crypt nevilli plus some taller crypts off to one side.

I use Seachem liquid ferts & tabs. No Co2. Twin 18ins plant and daylight tubes, timer set for 12 hrs on.

Here is a list that was sent to me and all available at the moment.
Limnophila brownii
Didiplis diandra
Mataca fluviatillis
Micranthemum micranthemoides
Microcarpaea minima
Myriophyllum dicoccum
Myriophyllum muricatum
Rotala occultiflora (light green though)

Any other ideas would be appreciated plus any info on the listed plants

Keith ... If you can get Didiplis diandra ( Stargrass) . I would go for that.. In a small tank
like your Betta tank you could cut and plant the bunches to create some very interesting
effects or have single stems across the back .It's however not dark green ( generally) ..
but you already have some darkish green plants... it would create a fantastic contrast to
your Annubias and Crypts .

Keith:

I have Didplis Diandra growing in my tank and it is of a very bright light green color with slightly reddish coloration at the tips! A very very beautiful plant but not dark green. The picture below shows the actual color of the plant:
