crusha Enthusiast Fish Geek Posts: 262 Kudos: 183 Votes: 102 Registered: 11-Nov-2005 | My plants are being nibbled and I cant seem to catch the culprit. Which of these fish (if not all) is the likely suspect: Clown Loach Kribensis Yoyo Loach Angelfish There are even bite marks in my Anubias . |

Any new leaf was considered a good salad snack, eventually I got so annoyed with it that I removed the Angels and gave them away. My three Yoyo loaches do not seem to eat from my plants. The other two I don't have any personal experience with, so I can't help you there, my bet is on the Angels though. |

But these look like bite marks mainly on the new growth, generally at the tip of the new leaf before it opens and around the edges. I'll try and post a picture today so you can give me your opinion. What about Blue Rams, could they be doing it? So far it seems you all think its the Angel. I'll post pics anyway. Thanks all for your comments - Cheers Crusha Editing for pics ... Anubias - note new leaf tip. Holes in swords |

I just cant seem to catch him at it, but i did see one of my male krib's taking a nice bite at a plant and i'm leaning towards him and his mates being the culprits. My poor plants they are trying so hard to grow . |

ClownyGirl Fish Addict Posts: 508 Kudos: 311 Votes: 5 Registered: 07-Oct-2004 | Wrong, wrong, wrong. Your yoyo loach is the biggest culprit and following a close second are you clown loaches. I tried badly to keep plants with my loaches, and not once did my angel or rams touch them, but my clowns and yoyos munched away happily. I have lost bacopas, amazons, pygmy swords, java moss, vallisnerias and many many others. Those bit marks are distinctive loach tooth work and the situation is only going to get worse. There is no hope though you will continue to love your loaches like a complete fool. Ask me |

I guess i'm just going to either replace them with more or go plastic , gotta have the plants! Anyone else think its the loaches??? |

Caught him yanking on my poor anubias nana. OH what to do. I'm trying to feed them more veg, maybe that will help. Can i feed them veg everyday or is it something that is more like a treat every now and then??? Anyone got any other advice. |
