I am researching on Anemones. Can anyone tell me about one that they would reccomend. And also please let me know how much lighting i would need. Right now i have only 2 40 watts 50/50 lights. I have a 55 gallon tank. Is there anything i need to know about anemone and is that enough lighting for a few anemones?

The best beginner anemone is either the bubble tip, or the long tenicle. However, they will most likely need about twice as much light as you currently have. Most other anemones will require very high output lighting, such as multiple PCs, or MH.

HTH....

I will suggest not gettign a carpet, they look cool, but need a LOT of light. The long tenticle are the most common and are low priced. These are a good place to start.

So what i need is more lighting. Is that correct? Do you guys reccommend that the lighting i have now will be able to handle some anemones?

I would say it's rather low. If possible add another 40 to 80 watts and you would be better off.

Alrite, i just got a new light. its a power compact light 2 65 and 2 65 watts. this should be enough to hold some anemones. Give me an anemone that is easy for beginners that would go with a couple clowns. And please give me a feather duster type that would be not that hard to care for.

Sebae and bubble tips are some what easy and should be OK with the lights you have now.

Very good. Anemones are mostly water. So even small amounts of low water quality can effect them.

Test it for ammonia, nitrItes, nitrAtes, specific gravity, and ph.

Optimal test results;
Ammonia=0
NitrItes=0
NitrAtes= less than 20 optimal, and less than 40 a must.
Specific gravity=1.023
ph=8.3 acceptable variations= 8.0-8.7
