I did a small top-off of fresh water this morning and he closed up then too, but within 20 min he was back to normal. Then I left to get dinner and he was fine, but when I got home he's closed and just laying there!! Whats wrong? Please help! He cant die.. he's my favorite. Oh no.. oh no.. Could it be those red worms? Someone said they could potentially hurt Whiskers? Should I offer him food maybe? A chunk of beef heart? I just dont understand! The water parameters have not changed in any way that I can tell. The lighting is fine....! -distraught flail- I dont get it!! Help help!! ![]() ![]() ----------------------------------------- UPDATE: Whiskers seems to be doing a little better now. I picked him up and moved a piece of rock so that he could sort of lean against it and not be on the sand (with the worms). BEfore I left I sort of squeezed him a little (I was making sure he wasnt dead) and some of his tenticles came out. Then I fed the tank some brine shrimp in hopes he'd grab a few and eat. Well, Im not sure if he did or not, but he seems to be back to his normal size. Tomorrow Im going to go get him some other types of food, since I have been relying on the brine shrimp and his filter feeding, plus light consumption to sustain him. I guess this may be incorrect, and he needs little bits of food actually shredded up and given to him. Any thoughts or help would be much appreciated, as I do not want a repeat of tonight...ever... Any ideas about what may have happend?? -Q :%) Last edited by xngtmare at 06-Oct-2004 02:56 |

Anemone's will sometimes close up like that and stay that way for a day or so. You need to worry when it looks like it is "melting" It sounds like yours are doing better. I have found that mine likes Frozen Krill. They are much meatier than Mysis or Brine and supposedly better for them. |
