Mysterious blue-green reef chromis death...a young one at that, who was eating fine.

Ammonia: .25mg/l

NitrIte: <0.3mg/l

NitrAte: 12.5mg/l

pH: 8.4 atm (5 o'clock PM)

Temp: 79.4*F

Doesn't look terrible to me...I did this sorta quick. :-/

I hate to hear that Liana! I guess it even happens to the best of us. How long had you had him? I am sure it was probably jsut a fluke! I guess the only thing to do is keep an eye on the other guys?

Do you think the ammonia had anything to do with it? Pomacentrids like Chromis are usually pretty hardy, but can still fall victim to water pollutants. That's the only thing I can think of.

Liana, your ammonia shouldnt be that high...it really shouldnt register at all. .25 isnt that bad though.

Also, IMO your dkh is a little low....I would prefer to see it around 10 dkh myself.

Other than that and the tiny bit of nitrite everything else looks fine. IMO do a water change and test again
