I am thinking of pushing the Betta tank a bit further My Profile has all the details except the small Clown Loach is still there. The filter I am using an Eheim is designed for tank sizes 30-60 Lt, 8-16 gall
With all the extras, substrate etc my capicity is 31Lt measured very accuratly Lt by Lt.
If I can add more Cardinals how far can I push the safety limit too.

Have a look in [link=My Profile]http://

Hi Keith,

Personally I think you're already fully stocked with the 9 cardinals in that tank. I'm not sure how big your cardinals are now, but they can get quite large eventually, much larger than say the neon tetras. I never knew how big cardinals can get until I saw some in the Amazon display tank in Underwater World (Sunshine Coast) - they were at least 6cm long!

Sounds like there could be varieties within the species the biggest I have seen are very healthy ones about 12ins+, 25mm+.

That seems extremly large but could have been caught in the wild and that can certainly make a big difference to some species of fish.

What do you think?! If you want to get some more go for it...cardinals are happier in numbers and a few more will be negible to the bioload

I also think that you're with the limits, but you can add some more Cardinals slowly & keep an eye on them.

I will be adding three very soon remembering I still have the small Clown Loach 2ins and growing fast in the tank.
He will be staying there until I get all the plants I require at the moment I am waiting for some more plants to be released for sale. This could take several months.
