Does anybody else have diamond tetras. I have 8 in my 75g that are fascinating. The 2 males have long flowing fins and have green and red irredescence on them at night. My only regret was not buying all of them at petco when they were a buck a peice.

I got a small school too when they were a buck a piece at Petco. I wish I hadn't... they destroyed the fins of my nicest male guppy and did the same to his father which was a double tail (wasn't able to save him). This in a heavily planted 75G with lots of room to hide. I've now whitnessed them nipping the fins of a couple other fish (so far nothing fatal like the one male gup) and for the time being I can not keep any male guppies in this tank.

Nice fish but the most nippy tetra I've ever owned. They even go after each other all the time.

A lot of the larger tetras can be nippy, but almost every tetra is nippy towards long flowing fins. I have not kept them, but I ahve observed them in my lfs's show tank. They are quite beautiful and I would really like to keep some someday.

I have seemed to get the perfect ratio. I have 2 males and 6 females. My males are awesome. I haven't seen any nippyness between them.
