Is that a bad combination.....I know the black skirt tetras are little bit nippy.I was thinking of getting 6-8 of those but i want to know if it safe for the Angels i got?
If that want go what about other tetras?
Thanks,
Robby

I'm not an expert and i was wondering the same thing because i want to refill my aquarium (10 neon tetra were eaten by blue gouramy(peacefull fish only males may fight if they are not given the space).
I currently have 2 black shirt tetras and i keep them in the same aquarium with blue gouramis and gupies, cories and i haven't seen a momment that they bit a fish.I also keep 4 callistus and they are also not nipping fins.

I can't say how they deal with angelfish but if 2 black widow tetra aren't nippy then a shoal of 5+ should have no problem.

My aqaurium is 62G and i have 2 black widow and 4 callistus (among other fish) because most of them were killed by ich

I think that the BS Tetra's are nippy & your Angels will be touched. I would go with a school of Rummynose Tetra, but they may be more delicate, but not nippy.

Tetra's like to stay in schools, so i would add more BS Tetra's with your Gourami, Guppy's & Corydoras.

The black skirt tetra is IMO one of the least attractive tetras (other than the blind cave fish). Why not go with a nice school of diamonds with your angel? They can be nippy, but I think for the most part they ignore larger fish. Or you could go with emporer tetras...if you can get them. Lastly rummynose tetras would work too, they rarely bother any fish more than twice there size it seems (such as a severum and even as small as rams).

I'd be hesitant to put rummynose with Angels because of their slender size; my fear being that it'd be too easy for the angel to eat them. I myself would feel more comfortable going with tetras that appear to be larger, whether they get the "size" from actual body shape (red eyes for example) or from their finnage (like black skirts or black phantoms). But all that doesn't help answer the nippiness question. I guess its tough to find a good tetra match with angels.

Rummynose tetras are larg enough that they cannot be eaten by an angel. Also, rummynose tetras aren't looked upon as food by the angels, usually only neons. I have kept rumy's and angels together wiothout any problems.

IME, be weary of purchasing red eye tetras for your tank...they are the nippiest creatures ever IME They almost tore apart my school of glowlight tetras and were moving in on my gourami. So be warned, don't put red eye tetras in with something you do not want nipped.

I've had angels look at more than just neons as food...

You cannot logically have an angelfish consume an entire rummy nosed tetra. At full size, the pterophyllum mouth simply cannot fit itself around the fish. Even neons at a full size of 1.75" cannot possibly hope to be consumed by an adult angelfish.

true, but fish are not *usually* full size when you buy them.

If the Angels are small, you can add some Rummynose Tetra. If they are full size, just add some big bodied Tetra's.

I had a fully grown Angel that ate a Rummynose in front of my eyes. She just spitted the tail out, but ate the body.

I have a full-grown angel with my rummies and haven't really had a problem. I had one disappear a while back. It was abnormally small though, so with most fish you wouldn't have a problem. Rummynose are really gorgeous and would be a great choice. They are definitely some of the best schoolers I know.

They shade the glow of it with their mossy-misty costumes,
They wear masks of silk, porcelain, brass, and silver,
So as not to mislead with their own, ordinary faces.
