I was told that all Congo Tetras would get the point on the tail fin and as they matured they would color up. Is this true?

All male congos. Female congos remain a rather plain yellow color with shorter fins. Reason it's very difficult to find good pics of females online. They may have the reddish streak but it isn't as bright and they will lack the blues of the males. Actually a good way to tell young males from females even before the fins start to develop is that the males will have a bluish tinge above and below the red and yellow streak while the females never do. http://www.akvarieudstyr.dk/images/Produkter/Afrikafisk3.JPG
