|Life span of Neons?|
Does anyone know the normal expected life span of neon tetras?

I would not expect most to live more than one or two years, but I'd be willing to bet with good care they'd live in excess of five years at least.

From my experience, two to two and a half years is the average. A lot depends on where your neons origionated - some suppliers have some not so healthy fish, others better.

For me they do much better in planted larger aquariums of more than 50 gallons. I would definitely place their life span as shorter than most.
The calming qualities of a good aquarium are irrefutable
