I introduced three new cardinals today and instantly it brought all of the otheres out into the open whereas previously they were always hiding in the shadows of the plants and DW.

All the new Cardnals had been in a display tank for a while and I should not have any Ich problems like I did last time if so I have the meds ready.

Interesting. How many Cardinals did you have in the tank previously?

Keith, I had a similar experience when I added more neons to my 10g. I had 6 to begin with and I added 4. Sadly one died so I only have 9 now, but when I added the new ones, they all seemed to come out more often in the daytime. I don't know if it is the neons in general being shy, or if my betta intimidates them. I'm just glad they come out more often, before I was a little worried.

I origionally had 9 lost 2 = 7 with the three new cardinals total 10.

I intend to let them settle in and posssibly buy three more in a few months time.

I still have the Clown Loach and intend to keep it there until I have completed all the planting, which could take several months as the plants I require seem to be in short supply. Lobelia Cardinals.

I hope to get more plants for my 10g. I just want to be able to see my neons. A few of them still hide behind the plants. I have so many snails in my 10g. I am not going through the trouble to put a yoyo back in though. They don't seem to be hurting my plants so I guess I'll just keep breeding them.

I still have the Clown Loach in my Betta tank but I have not seen a snail for months.

A Clown Loach will do wonders with Snails & you wouldn't see another one roaming around your Plants.

Maybe I should look into borrowing one then. I have lots of small ramshorn snails in my 10g and my 55g. My yoyo's in the 55 don't seem to care for ramshorns.
Do clowns eat these?
