i fed my piranhas cichlids floating pellets and it seems like they like it once in a while... is that alright for them?

yes, theyre perfectly fine, but ur piranha will/do require some type of protein. whether its live foods, frozen meaty foods, or carnivorous pellets of some form. varied diet is the key. check the nutritional info on the label of the cichlid pellets if there isnt a substantial amount of protein then some other food, like the ones i suggested, will be necessary(sp)

ya i feed em live fish and frozen bloodworms... they seem to like them as treats... when i walk up to the tank they come see me and when i put the pellets in they go for it

You can also feed them slow sinking pellets, but the best thing, is to give them different foods, so they'll have a varied diet.

what size tank do u have them in? im interested in pirhannas but dont know how big of a tank i will need.

depends on what type of pirhanas u are looking for, when i was looking for info on red belly pirhanas, the info aquired and observed is generally aa really big tank, B/C as a single RBP can get very large, they like to be in numbers, also a big and roomy tank is needed, b/c they will fight eachother, what i saw in a small tank with babys (just holding waiting to be sold) alot had only one eye, guess the other was eatten, and at the public aquariums, they have big schools of RBP in large tanks.

right now i have my 3 red bellies in a 35 cuz they're still small.. im thinkin of gettin a 55 or a 60 gallon for them
