I have a small school of 6. 4 regulars, 2 "gold." I've wondered about breeding them, but I do not believe that any of them are mature yet. I posted this question a few weeks back, someone responded with a little experience, I forget who it was though. I think that they said to watch for pairing, then separate into a breeding tank, keep an eye on water conditions, and that they're a fairly easy tetra to breed. Wish I knew for sure. Would like to breed mine.

Good luck with it. Please let me know if you get it to work. Might give it a go myself.

Well i am planning for the future. First i must finish the fish room & than start breeding, but in mind i have Rummynose, Lemon & maybe Pristella. I would also like to give the Corydoras a try & for sure try the Angels (if they'll pair up).

Thanks alot NFaustman & i'll leave you informed with any news.

I am intrigued by the fish room. What a great idea/project. How many tanks are you planning on having?

Pristellas are very beautiful and active fish. They also school really well.I have 9 right now. They seem to be very hardy too.I have only lost 1 in the 8 months that I have had them. However I have not had them breed to even tried so I can't help you out there.Good luck with them!!!

I've bought glass for 9 tanks. 5 are about 30x30x30cm & i'm going to use them as breeding tanks & the other 4 are about 50x40x40cm & i'll use them as grow out tanks. I am going to start with some Tetra's & Corydoras, but i also like to breed Angels & Neolamprologus Brichardi. I also have space for 3 other tanks & the size will be 90x30x30cm, but first i'll see how it goes & maybe in the future will try other things.

I bought the filters & the heaters & hopefully by next week, the tanks will be made. (a friend of mine is going to build them for me).

I still have to do the electrical wiring, but that's not a difficult job & all this is placed in an underground garage. For sure it will be cooler in summer & hopefully warmer in winter.

I have 4 pristellas, used to have 7, but age got em.
They are great little fish, dont grow very large, have a very unique body shape, and school very nicely.
I love their "racing stripe" on the top fin.
A large school would look very very nice!
