If you want to keep piranha, I think a better size tank would be 75g or larger. That would just be my opinion though, and Im sure you will get more opinions! Brybenn![]() Mega Fish Posts: 1217 Kudos: 1173 Votes: 1 Registered: 02-Mar-2003 ![]() ![]() | one wood b ok in a 40 until bout a year old at which it should b at least 6" if kept in a 40 it will never reach anywhere close to its projected size n wont live as long nor grow as fast a 75 is perfect for 1 red for life i raise my fish in smaller tanks n upgrade them as i move them out but i move the smallest of the fish to a bigger tank first to allow them to gain in size to b equal to the others if u do decide a 40 gallon is all u got itd b ok for a year or so but keep the water clear n clean n much filtraation |

Messy feeders just isnt the word. You'll need water volume to cope with the pollution they create. Sure Ive seen them in smaller tanks, but then they dont seem to last too long like that either.
