yeh with lots o plants u could put in maybe 20 but it also depends on the suface area at the top o the water and another good way of working out how many neons u could have in there is 1 cm o fish per litre which is about 1 and a half inches to a US gallon this is only a rough guide as most fish grow in the aquarium

Is the tank planted?

Will there be any other fish in the tank, or any invertebrates?

If the tank is heavily planted, without other animals, you could keep about sixteen or so neon tetras in there safely. If the tank is unplanted without tankmates, the most I'd do would be ten. Ten gallon tanks are notoriously unstable, so you must be very careful when stocking one, and keep up on your tank maintenance. Weekly water changes are very helpful, though they can't prevent every problem that might occur.

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."
