Are these the same as bloodfin tetras? They have the same colors and body one they have greenish coloring on their bodies. It's not died or anything, it looks like the mossy coloration you seen on green tiger barbs.

Also, can I mix a school of bloodfins and green-fires? They look so much alike, I don't think it would be a difference.

Nope, they're different from bloodfins. The green fire tetra (Aphyocharax rathbuni) is its own fish, though it is closely related to the bloodfins. The colors are actually different if you look hard enough, or if you wait for the greenies to settle into whichever tank they're in (store or home). As with many other fish, their colors fade when the fish are stressed, and return when they are happy.

If by "mix a school" you mean "include two schools in the same tank", then yeah, that's fine. As always, it's best to have plenty of each fish, so that they have the option of hanging out together or excluding the other species and schooling by themselves. If the two schools want to combine, they will. I don't think it is fair to the fish for there to be only two or three of each species in the tank, so go with six or so of each.

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."

ok, I thought that I could get 4 of each because they are so closely related. Then that solves my question.
