One of my lfs has some really nice rummynose tetras but I dont know if I could keep them. I can up my water change schedule to 30% twice a week but my water is very hard. My ph is about 8.3. I don't know. I dont want to buy a whole school and have them die. Should I get them. The tank is a 75g.

Says the same thing about my bolivian rams, diamond tetras, and royal plec but they're fine. I don't know, my lfs has them in about the same water conditions.

I have noticed that rummies tend to do rather poorly in HARD water, though, not neccessarily with water of a high pH. If you have well/RO water available, I'd do half of your water change with it, to soften the water--or add a plethora of DW/peat pellets into your tank.

Rummies are very beautiful & mine are in a 6.8ph & they look fine, but when you buy them, just give them lots of time before putting them your tank, as they are a bit delicate.
