	2+2=11

Our math teacher offered us bonus marks if we can figre out how 2+2=11. His only hint was that it is not necessairilly eleven but could be one one. One of my friends also heard him say something about a basline equation. This has been going on for over a month not and noone has come up with an answer. I was curious if anyone knows the answer as this is starting to bother me lol. Thanx in advance.

They are devices that have two inputs and one output. IF you have two correctly moving pulses, either both positive, or both negative, then there is a single output from the device. To get the next number, you add a number to the next column and reset the first to 0. base-10 <-> base-3 0 <-> 0 1 <-> 1 2 <-> 2 3 <-> 10 4 <-> 11 5 <-> 12 6 <-> 20 7 <-> 21 8 <-> 22 9 <-> 100 10 <-> 101 2 + 2 = 4 in base-10. 2 + 2 = 11 in base-3.
