Okay, camera experts I need your opinions.

My birthday is coming up, it's at the end of this month.

I'm going to ask for just a digital camera.

Here's what I want:

Something with macro I guess, because I need to be able to get GREAT reef/coral/small polyp pictures. That's a must.

I HATE I HATE I HATE...red eye.

I like cameras that take the picture practically the second you press the button, not one that flashes for an hour and a half, then takes it.

And if at all possible, I sort of like big viewing screens. And camera's with batterys that charge in a charger.

So...keep in mind i'm only going to be 17 and I dont need a fancy fancy professional camera. Just something nice please. Keep price down as low as possible.

Thanks folks.

Fast taking, and a large screen are usually at the middle to top end of the market.
If you want to take good macro photos it will require a good camera (I did say GOOD) most will take average macro but not a true macro (I mean up as close as 10mm)
If you get a cheep camera I will gurantee you will not be happy and end up buying a better one. By saying that I mean by buying two cameras with the $$$ spent you could have a very good top market camera. The price does not stop at the camera there are the cards, recharable batteries, recharger and all the extra bits you can not think of now.
