Of course skinnydipping is a hobby. A hobby is something you do for enjoyment. The part of Colorado I live in has hotsprings here and there, Some you have to pay to get into, one of those is clothing optional, and some are just out in the wilds. There is one up by Gunnison I want to check out one of these days.

Hey Frank, what part of Colorado are you in? I'm in Montrose.

Babel and Stariel, what do you like to read?

Mike

I'd like to say that I have a hobby in computer graphics and animation, but... not really. I play video games and DDR for a good amount of my time, though.

I read.

Sundays I watch movies and eat popcorn if I've got a movie to watch, otherwise I'll read.

I've got my finals for my open water cert this weekend so hopefully I'll have scuba diving as a hoby.

Oh...and I sometimes take photographs, not really a hobby, more of a need.

Hi,
I'm an active Ham Radio operator. I participate in the
Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES) for a remote county
in Colorado, I'm the Director of the 8th District,
Navy Military Radio Service (MARS) overseeing six states.
I repair transmitters/receivers, and our family computers
as well as overhaul older computers and other electronic
equipment.
I collect rocks & minerals
I enjoy hiking.
I enjoy nature photography.
I read at least a book a week + techincal journals.
I love Aqua Gardening, and while I have no sense of
Aquascaping, I can grow plants.

So it seems a lot of us have interesting hobbies.

I knit and crochet - a lot! I also like to watch movies/TV shows from Netflix while knitting/crocheting.

And I read. I'm sure there are more.

So, how 'bout you?

Reading is my number one - i've been reading since I was three years old. I'll read anything, and if I have nothing new, I'll re-read the books in my shelves.

I write too, but since I graduated I only seem to do it for work rather than pleasure - hoping that will change soon. A lot of other hobbies are actually part of work now too - graphic design, photography etc. which means sometimes I love my job and sometimes I hate my hobbies .

Apart from that, I love snorkelling, swimming, the beach in general (unfortunately I missed the last bit of warm weather while I was healing my arms , good wine, good food, painting and cooking. I have aspirations towards gardening but I have a black thumb. I like visiting garden shops though! I've also recently rediscovered video games - I used to be a spectator only but I've started playing them myself now, and find myself getting quite obsessive. It's partly due to the influence of my neighbours, who we've recently become friends with and who are into games themselves - we swap back and forth constantly and most of our weekends now seem to revolve around a pattern of getting together at either house, visiting the bottle shop, making dinner and then settling in to watch whichever game is going at the time.

The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it. - Oscar Wilde

Playing piano has been taking up a lot of my time lately... maybe I'm improving... If I learn a hard enough piece really well, then maybe when I get back I can knock my teacher's socks off... then again, considering that he's not impressed by anything really, I will just play for my friends...

I also cross-stitch (sometimes), read, write, and do arithmetic... ok, scratch the 'rithmetic, but I think that's a pretty good survey of what I do.

I also very much enjoy the outdoors, but since that's my field of study, I'm inclined to call it more my job than my hobby (but I sure do enjoy it! )

Um, I have a lot of hobbies, they're just very specific... building computers, modding computers, overclocking computers, building stuff for my fish tanks, modifying stuff for my fish tanks, not overclocking my fish tanks....biking, biking more, biking to fish stores, biking to computer stores...not cleaning my room, not getting a life, and not sleeping

I have made a few quilts,by hand, but since arthritis has set in I can no longer do it. It was difficult to work on them as everytime the needle went up and down, a cat was in my lap! I also love to read, mostly mysteries and Robert Ludlum types. Knitting is an ongoing hobby. I have filled many suitcases with Barbie clothes for my six grandaughters over the years, plus hats mittens, afghans, etc. I'm also a collector. I have about 300 Beanie Babies, a huge collection of Wade figurines, and a cast iron trivet collection to name a few. Finally, cooking. I enjoy cooking and baking. I still make homemade bread, rolls, cinnemon buns, etc. I have the figure to prove it!

Types of books I read...pretty much anything fiction that's not a romance .
I like historically based books Les Miserables is one of my favs (did it in 10 days one summer the complete work not the abridged ).
My sister got me hooked on david eddings which started the whole sci fi fantasy bit for me. I prefer a bit of humor (so I like eddings over *gasp* LOTR *shock*), and good clean fun . Right now I'm quite happy with Terrry prattchet ...unlike Douglas Adams he's still alive and churning them out!
I also will do mysteries and love ones set in egypt...there'd been a series I'd been reading for a while I think the author was semi-local (from Maryland anyway) but cant remember the name now :%).
Loved the early harry potter books, Read thru some of Garth Nix (aussie author) works. REally enjoyed Dark Lord of Derkholm and Year of the Griffin from Diana Wynne Jones.

:%).
