except for the paint crash - ewwww flashing lights!!!

Tiny, to get winxp to realize that 'THERE IS NO FLOPPY DRIVE!!!', just go to My Computer, right click on the drive, go to Properties, go to Hardware, click on the drive, go to properties. Under Device Usage, select "Disable". You can get there from the device manager aswell.

And there ya go, no more pesky flopy drive button to get in yer way

I use an external (USB) floppy drive (well, I HAVE one, I've used it like 3 times ), so it always shows 2 floppy drives after I reformat (drives A and B...got 2 hard drives, and 2 optical drives aswell...and whatever camera/cards I have in...it gets crowded in there ), so I have to kill the phantom drive every couple months

IF there is a floppy drive, sounds like there was a disk in the drive when the system went down or what have you, and it was looking for it again. i run into this when i'm stress testing pcs

Do you even HAVE an A drive? I dont, so it always takes windows a good few minutes to realise that not only will I not insert a disk, there's nowhere to insert it, when I click on A by accident.

At school yesterday I got an error from Scandisk because the kid in 4th period always shuts it off wrong...

windows found a corrupt file (so and so file). Windows was able to fix the problem. Please Run scandisk to fix the problem

Didn't have to run it again but it was wierd.

me too - I usually grab for the monitor power button.

The one I really hate is the bluescreen when you're listening to music. That horrible ticktickticktick!

The Paint crash was my favorite part. I've actually had MS programs crash exactly like that, with the flashing and all. It probably even said "Paint.exe has performed an illegal operation for no reason." or something like that.
