poisonwaffle Mega Fish Posts: 1397 Kudos: 591 Registered: 11-Feb-2003 | I went to the Henry Doorley Zoo and Aquarium in Omaha, NE yesterday! Anthony Calfo (big SW god/d00d) gave a couple speeches and whatnot there... it was really good, and I learned a lot... and I got a bunch of pictures Some funky kind of anemone Rhinopias It's worth somewhere around $1000 I heard Some funky fish that I have no idea on the name Some kind of bird Closeup of a big (~15') tall cactus Some sort of lizard (forgot the name) Some funky critter... Closeup of a big lionfish That's all I've got edited/resized so far... I've got a couple other really nice shots that I still need to get done, but I thought I'd get these up first Another guy that I was with brought his Canon 10D and got some really incredible shots that he's going to try to sell to the zoo (and make posters of for himself and others, too). I'll see if I can link you guys to some of his pictures too |

poisonwaffle Mega Fish Posts: 1397 Kudos: 591 Registered: 11-Feb-2003 | I was kinda hoping for some feedback/comments/suggestions on the pics, lisa BTW, I've decided to get a D-SLR even if my wallet will hate me for the rest of my life. What do you think of the Canon 10D? There's an auto mode if I get lazy or have trouble... but it's a decent enough camera, methinks. What do you think? |

poisonwaffle Mega Fish Posts: 1397 Kudos: 591 Registered: 11-Feb-2003 | I made them that big because I'm going to be posting them up as backgrounds on DeviantArt.com...but I suppose I could resize them to something decent like 1280x1024 or something? Aside from that, what do you think of the composition of them? I know that some of them are a bit off (I don't like the one of the funky fish, and a couple others),but I think that most of them are rather decent/alright. Any comments/suggestions/constructive criticism on that? Also, how do you think I should get the bubble streaks out on the lionfish closeup? I basically followed the fish with the camera when I took the shot, so the few bubbles in there are blurred and almost look like scratches. I tried to use the blur thing in CS2 to make them less noticable, but I'd like to make them darker... got any suggestions on that? Thanks :dp |
