For some reason, he thought better of that and changed it to "aluminum" 4 years later. Americans adopted the new term, but the British disliked that it disrupted the -ium pattern created by such elements as sodium, calcium, and strontium. They added a vowel and a syllable. It is rightfully aluminum, since that is what its discoverer named it. They shade the glow of it with their mossy-misty costumes, They wear masks of silk, porcelain, brass, and silver, So as not to mislead with their own, ordinary faces.
