Hmm, lately?

1. Storage space $160 a month
2. Cat carrier $140
3. Deck wash, that didn't really help

Course I also got to spend around $100 on flowers, plants and lovely pots...

Top three most hated chores!

Floors (inherited a steam cleaner for hard floors. Love it. Goodbye to lugging buckets of hot water. I hate it less now but still not my favourite weekly chore)

Bathroom (Again! only once per week & takes 2 seconds. Why do I hate it?)

Washing the car (back in the days we were allowed to do this in Sydney/NSW)

Top three inventors/scientists

1) Mashed potatoes - REAL ones, made by completely smooshing actual potatoes. No lumps so it could theoretically be classed as a dessert food IMO

2) Bounty Bars - for comfort food on the go (not sure if they are international, but essentially soft coconut covered in milk chocolate, split into 2 separate bars so you can feel piggy without actually being piggy)

3) Cadbury Dairy Milk Family Block - I don't care that it is totally dull chocolate, I like that you can eat half a block without so much as blinking. Tis good!

Your top 3 favourite birthday gifts (weird or wonderful)

This is a GREAT one. Surprised there isn't a deluge of answers.

1) Credit for previous study (means I have to do less subjects. Saves me money and time. Yay)

2) My first fish

3) The effort friends take in making me feel spesh

Top three DOH! moments. (I thought of this because I locked myself out recently)

OOh i will do this one.
#1 Returning home from a show with 10 emperor scorpions and dropping the polybox on the floor..scorpions scurried under the floor board. Mum still dosnt know.

#2 Tripping over the cord of my TV and knocking it off and breaking it.

#3 Trying to fix said broken TV without turning the power off and getting thrown across the room by the electric like a judo fighter.

Top 3 things to do with Food...

1. Eat it, of course.

2. Throw it at people.

3. Put it in Mez's broken TV.

Top 3 ways you've been zapped by electricity (if you haven't been zapped 3 times, then top 3 times you've been injured/hurt/nearly injured/close calls/etc)?

"Mum still dosnt know."

but the whole internets does now !

1.Umm flicking on a lightswitch that didn't have the cover on it yet and missing the switch thereby sticking my finger in the box instead

2.Sticking my finger in a light bulb socket trying to fix it (just happened a few days ago )

3. Recent close call was managing to pour water all over the power strips for all our tanks upon returning from the US in june and finding the tanks half empty. Do not do aquarium work on a jet lag/exhaustion over caffeinated combo.

Top three projects you'd work on if you had the time.

That ain't too bad, Babel. I've been hit by 750VAC PP @ 10A, 600VAC PP @ 10A, and 400VAC PP @ 20A, and 240VAC RMS @ 60A once each, and 120VAC RMS @ 10-40A a good number of times. (Do note that current available doesn't necessarily equal current used... otherwise I'd be a burnt slab of meat 6' underground at the moment.) If you don't know what any of that electrical jibberish means, ask Adam... he's an electrical engineer, right? From all of those zaps, I've got a few electrical burns and fried nerves. I've gone weeks without feeling in my upper body and arms, and had no feeling in my two index fingers for over 8 months. The only time I can feel sensation in my index fingers now is when they're subjected to pain (slamming in doors, getting bitten, hitting with hammers, etc)... I have no 'normal' sense of feeling in them. I think I really need to stop playing with step-up transformers, high wattage class 4 lasers, and large amounts of electricity in general o.O

Anyway, to 3 projects I'd work on if I had time, money, and electricity-proof appendages...

1. 1100w class 4 CO2 laser

2. Converting my '89 Mazda MX-6 to a Hydrogen/Gas hybrid (not dealing with more than 12VDC@20A for electrolysis in this project... just have to worry about more hydrogen explosions...)

3. Building a 2.2L 4 cyl, 5 speed, rear-engine, RWD go kart... got most of the parts... just need the aluminum tubing for the chassis and roll cage...

Worst 3 injuries you've had?

1. sprained ankle (wasn't even doing anything fun at the time, was at work!)

2. Native animal bite that went septic

3. trapped clothing in an electric can opener (technically wasn't injury to my body)

No broken bones, or stitches. Never been on crutches or anything. I'm bor-ing.

Top three ways to get rid of algae from decor items in your tank (other than switching off the light!)

1. Mechanical removal - depending on the type of algae - rubbing with fingers, pulling off with fingers, or scrubbing with something scrubby.

2. Ottos! (the four I have in my 10-gallon guppy tank just about have the green algae infestation whooped )

3. Reducing factors that help algae grow (light, nutrients, etc.)

Top 3 Zoos you have been to.

meant to answer the algae one yesterday, got caught up in super exciting house work :
but I'll pop in some feedback too.

It depends on the type of algae of course. Black brush algae, I did good with leaving the lights off for a few days, plants did ok being low light.

Brown diatom, water changes, and ottos/snails.

BGA, tree stump remover (potassium nitrate) helped then failed; water changes, helped then failed; manual removal, helped than failed; black out for week+, helped then failed; antibiotics as last resort...worked.

Top three zoos?
Can't remember the name, but there was one down in Melbourne Adam and I went to with Lindy and her boys. That was fun cause they had open areas for the native specieas so you could get real close

Currumbin wildlife sanctuary was pretty cool for the same reason, could get very very close to the koalas (of course they had cuddle photos for a fee)

National Zoo, DC. While not that great, and one of the older zoos in the US (they were shut down for a bit because of animal deaths and small enclosures) it's free, and very open to the public. It's a great place just to walk through, or as many in the district were doing when I was there, jog through! They have a variety of the traditional zoo animals and a pretty neat (small) aquarium exhibit as well.

Keeping to the same theme, top three aquariums you've visited, or top three displays in aquariums.

hmm i havent bben to many aquariums, but i have been ot a large one thats local. its called the Aquarium of the pacific. they have an awesome kelp forest exhibit/tank...

i have also seen an amazing freshwater tank that was designed as a series of streams ponds, and a larger tank to house local or fairly local bass, trout, catfish, and others it was pretty cool.

another amazing exhibit was at the aquarium of the pacific and it was a jelly fish series, talk about the epitome of amazing! you NEED to check it out!!!!

hmmm... i would like to hear some one else's responses to this same "TOP THREE" question. so:

Top three favorite aquariums or aquarium exhibits/tanks?

Could be another whole thread...

1. Monterey Bay Aquarium - one of the best out there, great temporary exhibits, awesome permanent ones.

2. California Academy of Sciences - currently moving/being re-vamped, lots of good freshwater fish, etc. I have actually met one of the aquarists from there.

3. Aquarium of the Bay - high admission, but a nice aquarium, massive exhibits that you go under on a conveyor belt.

Ohh, my weak spot!

1) LFS crawls with the betta group - usually McDonalds at Bexley or Auburn for lunch, followed by Krispy Kreme, and then topped off by Red Rooster or Maccas for dinner. LFS days are very naughty days.

2)On the way to TAFE - I'm always running late and there is a Maccas on the way. Kinda turned off now, Double Beef & Bacon shouldn't be greasy all over.

2) When I stay up late working on assignments. I keep beef jerky and bhuja mix in my stationery drawer

1. My room
2. My bird's cage (it's really in need of a good bleaching)
3. Apparently the break room kitchen at work (I spent 15 minutes after my lunch break cleaning up dish soap that spilled, and apparently the job I did wasn't good enough for someone who both called over the radio to ask what it was and then to say "well whoever spilled it should have cleaned it up" and then wrote a note above the sink saying "If you spill something slippery you need to clean it up because it is a slip/fall hazard. We're all *adults*." (with lots of underlines sprinkled throughout the note))

February because it is my birthday month
Um..... can't think of any months that I favour. Maybe because I don't live in a climate of extremes. I would feel differently if I had snow 3 months of the year I bet.

What are the top three things you want to eat on a rainy day...... (me: toasted sandwich. Fish and chips. Or something (anything!) warm for lunch if I'm at work, inevitably I will have packed a salad that day!
