I'd go to bensaf's place.

And Mahachai, and Pangkalanbun.

Just imagine..... swimming through giant schools of cardinals and neons

The spouse and I were just talking about this yesterday after he commented how nice my school of 20 neons looked. Can you imagine hundreds of them, even thousands?

I've snorkled in Jamaica and St Thomas. I remember fantastic corals and fish before it I was into fish so I don't know what exactly I'd been looking at

I'd like to visit the lakes in Africa (might as well visit all three) or go see the Great Barrier Reef. I also would visit bensaf for the price of a beer.

I'm flying to NY in a couple weeks to see my brother's graduation. I'm stayin' for a couple weeks to travel 'round the NE part of the country. If I find any good fish that I want (I'm planning trips to a betta breeder's place, etc) I've planned to have a bunch of bucket's set up at a friend's house and I'll just mail him all of the fish I get and he'll keep 'em in the buckets 'till I get back

bensaf, that is cool having that so close. here in Minnesota, i would have to fly to anywhere i could do that. i would like to see tropical freshwater fish in the wild because you get to see salt on tv so much it wouldn't be as cool. i would like to go to the fish markets in thailand, they had a thing about it in TFH a while ago, it looked really cool.

BTW, does anybody know the process of bringing live fish back, do you just mail them to your house?

I think I'd like to visit either the Rio Negro or the Rio Guapore. Both have some cool catfish, cichlids, and Characins, so I can't really pick between the two.

Would you ever take a trip to a foreign country to go and collect or just observe tropical fish? It doesn’t matter if it is fresh or salt water, just tropical. And if you think you would, where would you go, and what would you go for?

Weeelllll....I could just walk out my door and cross the road to the small lake outside my apartment and net out some croaking gouramies or wild bettas.

Or I could hope in the car drive for 30 mins and hop on a ferry to Seribu Pulau for 45mins and go scuba diving in the reef there and have the Tangs and Wrasse swim into my hand.

The jungles of Borneo are 1 hour east and the jungles of Sumatra are 1 hour west.

One of the advantages of living in the Tropics :88)

A huge proportion of the Tropical fish in the trade (most of the fish coming out of Singapore originate here in Indonesia but are distributed to the western markets by Singaporean middle men) come from a place in Java called Bogor , as well as the majority of aquatic plants (Tropica have a base there). It's about 1 hours drive from my place.

Of course there's always been an open invitation to FP members Buy me a beer and we're even

I'd to do this...

But I can't decide where I'd like to swim, can I just go jump into the Gulf of Mexico and swim from there to everywhere? Would make deciding a whole lot easier

Angels, salties, corydoras, neons, cardinals, bettas, guppies, Lake Malawi, it's all good, let's go swimming

I'd love to see the Amazon and its tributaries. That'd be so cool . Just imagine..... swimming through giant schools of cardinals and neons, seeing all those giant discus and angels, not to mention the cool catfish!

Lake Tanganyika or Malawi would be great.

Edit: Lake Victoria would also be good.
