I learned a new song.
"I believe I can fly".

"I Believe I Can Fly"

I used to think that I could not go on
And life was nothing but an awful song
But now I know the meaning of true love
I'm leaning on the everlasting arms

If I can see it, then I can do it
If I just believe it, there's nothing to it

[1] - I believe I can fly
I believe I can touch the sky
I think about it every night and day
Spread my wings and fly away
I believe I can soar
I see me running through that open door
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly

See I was on the verge of breaking down
Sometimes silence can seem so loud
There are miracles in life I must achieve
But first I know it starts inside of me, oh

If I can see it, then I can do it
If I just believe it, there's nothing to it

[Repeat 1]

Hey, cuz I believe in me, oh

If I can see it, then I can do it
If I just believe it, there's nothing to it

[Repeat 1]

Hey, if I just spread my wings
I can fly
I can fly
I can fly, hey
If I just spread my wings
I can fly
Fly-eye-eye

I found out that apparently I am sorely missed when I forget to tell people I'm going away for the weekend. And that bringing your laptop along, with the intention of signing onto FP and saying hi does not work when the phone jack in your room is apparently busted. *sigh*

And... stemming off of Stormy's answer, I found out that a random, late birthday present can brighten up someone's day. Even if it is late.

Over the weekend I found it was exceedingly hard to get ANY sleep when a friend of the family sleeps in the same room and snores LOUDLY. And takes breaks from snoring to curse someone out in his sleep. Just when I would FINALLY start to fall asleep, it was "just *bleep*ing do it" and other mumbled phrases. He's production manager for some company and apparently his employees like to slack off to the point of getting officially reprimanded and stuff put on their permanent records.

Needless to say, I got very little sleep this weekend.

Today I learned that there's a reason cannister filters have the pump on the top...so you can suck on the output and fill the whole cannister and not just the bottom ]:|

I had to submerge my entire DIY cannister w/pump on the BOTTOM to fill it after wasting an hour trying to figure out how to get it started ]:|

I just learned that I am not the only one who has been cussing and screaming at a canister filter this weekend, thank you pancake...

I've also learned, that just because you think you cleaned up all the water our of your apartment it doesn't mean that it is all cleaned upbecause in an apartment you share a wall with your neighbors and sometimes the water can go through the walland begin to flood their apartmentmeaning they call the landlady's husband to come check out the leakand when he discovers who the neighbor ishe knows immediately what has happened, but persues to bang on the door and bedroom window till you wake up only after being asleep for a couple of hoursjust to be sure that you know that you had a leakjeez how could I miss 65 gallons of water in my livingroom?

Oh and one more thing I also learned that I can wake up really fast when a student calls all excited (even though I took a sleeping pill that hadn't worn off) because one of her Fancy Female Guppies had her second batch of fry and it was more than one, but "Ms. Laird there are bunches of them, I mean there are really lots of babies swimming around, and they are hiding in the plants you gave me to put in the tank...and Sunshine hasn't eaten them all this time..." It can be one of the sweetest things to wake up too when you really don't want to get out of bed...thank you KTS, I needed it this afternoon

I learned that sometimes all it takes is combining every bit of advise and doing it repeatedly in the middle of the night and you can get a canister filter to finally work.

I've also learned that sometimes it is best to never grow up...and the students and parents don't mind if you have fun playing in the water at the water park...while some of the other teachers stare down their noses at you for having fun

oh yes we had another fun field trip, but let's face it i'm so glad that we only have 2.5 days left though I will miss some of the kiddos...kts, you know you are one, and we will have to plan on getting together...maybe a little lfs window shopping?

waffle, there is no way there are fire ants in your computer they don't survive in cold winters, so i know for a fact that there are none in your computer unless you've moved very far south from where you were before...

I learnt that the big toe on my left foot is fractured. That brings the total number of fractures in my body right now to 3. At this rate I'm finding a new one almost every week.

The good thing is, it's almost healed - it happened five weeks ago tomorrow. My wrist is almost healed as well, but my shoulder's lagging a little - no surprise as it's the worst of the three. Starting physio tomorrow, doctor has warned me that I have a long and painful road ahead :#(.

Today I learned that having one's house rewired is a Hadean curse. Rather like those ingenious but devilish penances of endless toil meted out to miscreants in Greek mythology. Except I'm getting mine while I'm still alive without having committed any misdemeanours to deserve it.

Yes, God has a schadenfreude sense of humour, and I am His Aunt Sally. Which means when I reach the Pearly Gates, I'll be taking a baseball bat to Saint Peter and letting Camel Spiders loose among the Heavenly Host in revenge. ]:|:%)

I learned today (well for the past week) how frustrating it can be to sell your own work. .....and if all the ones I just shipped get sold, I'll only make around $15 *sigh* hardly a wisper of a drop in the bucket considering how much I've spent so far.

Today I learned or maybe I should say relearned, that the last day and a half or two, are the absolute worst...I am so drained mentally, emotionally, and physically, that when I got to leslie's this afternoon at 4i literally passed out and couldn't be woken up till 6:30...

I've also learned who it was for sure that was my demise as well as a couple others at this blankety blank place of hades...

And one more thing, I learned that tomorrow 11:00 am cannot get here soon enough for me

heidi

PS babe, I have to agree, if a day begans bad don't expect it to get any better, it will only get worse

That some people at my exjob really are nice, why others *cough*aren't*cough*

That next time i feel like i did last night i either don't tell leslie or i'm going to the hospital

and last but not least if i don't settle down, my neighbor is going to kick my rearend and make me settle down some...

I learned that being kind and compassionate to someone will make a certain other person who lives in the same house say I'm no longer welcome there. :#( No it wasn't racso, but that's all I'll say.

I also learned that 2 of my coworkers had a Dani bashing session 2 nights ago. Not one word of what they said was true ] What THEY need to learn is to not run their mouths when they work with another certain person that works there, who happens to be one of my good friends

Moral of the story: I'm hated. My question is, what did I do

Today I learned that while baby Panda Corys can be a wonderful source of amusement as they play with bubbles stuck to a Java Fern leaf, filming them in action (either still pics or movies) is a major challenge, especially when the aquarium is just 5 inches off the floor and one has to adopt hernia-inducing positions to capture the pics. And then, just when you think you have snapped Junior's moment of hilarious glory, you get the display in the camera which shows that he moved before the shutter fired, so all you get is his tail end.

Good luck with the fight Hoolig! FIGHT HARD!
We just lost someone @my weekend job from cancer, worked @the station for 28 years the last one he worked from home while dealing with cancer.

I learned today that sometimes animals are just really smart! I was going to shut the window in the studio that was open a crack while @the same time talking with coworker E (one of my local drives was corrupted and had to take 2+hours out of my day to deal with that >.&lt...a slight movement out of the corner of my eye made me stop in my window shutting...turns out it was some sort of a lizzard, newt, something. After getting everyones attention to see how cute it was and try and decide if there was any way I could keep it I went back to the matter of the corrupted drive...
When I decided I should try and get a pic of him...he was gone ... We checked on the windows to see if he'd gone up somewhere or hiding in the curtians...turns out he was right back out the tiny crack in the window and sunning himself on the ledge .
I only got a quick pic of him before he wandered off...hopefully down four floors to where there was more likely to be tasty snacks

I learned that in can be simultaneously exciting and terrifying to tell your boss that you are unhappy with your position and want things to change - even if it is in the cowardly form of a letter . It's even worse waiting and knowing that she's read it by now and tomorrow you will be having a meeting to discuss it. Could go so many ways!

I also learned that my magazine will not survive beyond the first issue unless we get some advertising FAST! I also learned that I am terrible at trying to get said advertising. I am not a people person, not assertive or aggressive or able to think on my feet when speaking to someone. I'm just a sad little editor who prefers being hunched over a piece of copy surrounded by her beloved style guides to human contact!

I again learned that if I turn around too fast I will get horribly dizzy and basically fall over...

Yesterday, I learned that while going through the withdrawals of Effexor XR I am perfectly normal to be throwing up, dizzy, light headed, week, room spinning, and mushy legged (don't ask)...but if I take 90mgs of Sudafed every 4 hrs most of these side effects either go away, or are not nearly as horendous as they have been...

Oh and one more thingif you are talking to USPS 4-6 wks (?) actually means 2-2.5 months for deliverybut it has made it there

I found out that just because the meds the doctor gave you to make you sleep more than 2 hrs at a time, doesn't mean you will sleep more than 30 minutes at a time:%)even if you up the dose like he said you could

I've also realized no matter how comfy your bed is, even if you can't sleep, your rear gets sore sitting on it while playing on the internet for more than a couple of hours:%)

And RAST don't you dare say Santa Claus isn't real, I know he is, I've met him, and my dad sold him a new sleigh back in 1983, so I know he's real, who else would have a title to a sleigh through GMAC? And if you don't believe that is only because you were bad, and know you won't get anything but ashes for Christmas...

Doe...only thing to worry about is if it's bloodproof .

Today I learned that just like war hope is evil yet sometimes necessary. Time can be warped, altered and made to fit a recording schedule, but it marches on no matter what you do or how much you dont want your next birthday.

i suppose ive been learning this for the past week...
you can meet the most amazing people in the most unlikely of situations and places, and that anyone who can make you smile all day every day for a week straight must be a very special person

and that the LSAT's are ridiculously hard

not today but yesterday I learned that my Marine Biology teacher is going to leave her stocked tanks at school over the summer. This means the fish will no get fed, and no water will be changed for about 8 weeks. To make things worst the AC will probably be off, so temps are likely to get high in the tanks over the summer >.< especially in the tank by the windows that don't have a background to block the light. and with those tanks by the window the will have hgue algal blooms becuase of all the light. I mean you think she knew better ]:|. and to think that i was going to give her my angelfish pair since i can't take the 75G to college.

EDIT: spelling

I learned that sodium thisulfate is the main ingredient of many aquarium dechlorinators, and that it is also used on the photography and pool industry. Further I learned that you can by sodium thiosulfate as a crystal form and make your own dechlor. solution for much cheaper than it is to buy the bottled liquid stuff. the crystals can also last for several years as long as they are kept in a dry place. for places to buy the crystals i guess would be a pool supply store, or a place to buy photography supplies(to develop your own film i'm guessing). Of course the cheapest alternative is to age your own water since that is afterall free (well except for the bucket or trough you purchase to put the water in to age)

and to make things even worst for the post ^ up there, she(my marine biology teacher) bought some goldfish to add to one of the tanks. its only a 55g and has pictus catfish serpae tetras, and now 3 goldfish on top of that. with a UGF ... poor fishies

I learned that my entire family seems to think I'm a horrible person. And maybe I can't see what's right in front of my face.

I also learned that one of my best friends is either being two-faced or lying. Or my sister is lying. Either way, it really hurts.

I learned that when I hated who and what I was, my family liked me. When I finally get some self confidence and can believe and trust in myself, they seem to hate me. Great for the mental image, eh?

I've learned that crying for several hours after having a screaming match with your sister leaves your face feeling all tight and weird, your eyes hurt, your throat sore and you get a pounding headache on top of a leaky nose.

Today has REALLY REALLY sucked thusfar and I doubt it will be getting any better.

Time for therapy... *goes to clean fish tanks* I think I need to pet my betta girls for a while.

Koi *hugs*

Yesterday at the gym I learned a half-on.

(gymnastics move )

I also learned about the summer reading assignment I've been given for AP literature and composition. I hate summer homework. ]:| It's ten times worse than regular homework.

The last thing I've learned (and have been learning every day for a week) is that Super Squirts like to jam. ]
