I'm shocked that no Brits have come forward and added to this thread.. similar to Dr.Bonke, UK petrol prices are currently running at about $6.81/gallon!

Its an increase of around $1.39/gallon on the prices a few weeks ago - still expensive...

Just as well I cycle everywhere or I'd be destitute ...

About a two minute walk from my house (14 miles east of Liverpool in the UK) is a petrol station. The sign said 95p per litre for unleaded when I last looked a couple of days ago. That works out at £4.31 per gallon here in the UK. At current exchange rates that is $7.92 US.

So some of us in the UK pay nearly $8 a gallon. And it's going up. Some commentators are hinting that UK petrol prices could hit £6 a gallon in the not too distant future (thanks to crude hitting $70 a barrel on the world markets) which means we Brits will be paying the equivalent of $11.03 per gallon. Take a look at that figure for a moment ... eleven dollars a gallon ...

Now you know why no-one buys SUVs in the UK ...

y'all have it cheap, over 80 dollars to fill up my tank yesterday. One station an hour from my house is running over 6 dollars a gallon. Might have seen it this morning on CNN.

Empty chairs at empty tables, the room silent, forlorn.

The highest I've seen here was $3.06

And then there's the 10% ethanol gas (made from corn... burns a lot cleaner, get more power, car lasts longer, and a LOT cheaper) is 'bout $2.70ish...like a month ago it was $1.90ish...

I don't know why, but gas is a lot cheaper here... and I thought it was bad when it was $2.50-2.60 in NY...this is just getting really bad

We have 4.27 in Macon, Ga

Ga started a price gouging punishment to help bring it back down, like it makes much of a difference.

from cnn the one atlanta gas station yesterday:

well, that's what happens when 95% of the nations refineries are wiped out due to natural disaster on monday i filled up at $2.69 and the next day it was up to $3, today it's close to $4/gallon.

All the gas stations here went up to $3.25 at the cheapest.. there is a place not far from here that was $2.82 and we pulled in all excited. We get to the pumps and some guy came and said they were "out of gas"...

Go figure ]:|

here in wisconsin they have a law that gas stations can't change their price more than ONCE per 24 hour period. it's not the best legislation, but it does help a little.

Gas prices bite lately... almost makes me GLAD my car is out of commission at the moment. Despite having to rely on my family for rides everywhere, at least I'm not spending money on gas!

Wednesday at around 4:15 pm I was on my way home from work and noted that the gas station that had been at $2.79 for the better part of a week and a half was then at $2.99. I almost choked barely two and a half hours later when I was on my way to a meeting at quarter to seven... the same station was at $3.29!

I'm going to jinx the city by saying this, but here in my part of Cincinnati there's a BP station that is staying steady at $2.99 Better yet, it's right next to where I work I'll take it, seeing what everyone else is paying

Uhhh....moondog, 95% of the US's refineries?? Are you insane?

Our economy would be collapsing before us, and you wouldnt see cheap $3.00 gas if 95% of the US refineries were taken out.

It's more like 15-20%, not EVERY ONE is in the gulf coast.
