...A baby Rosy Boa.

We had them at work for sale, even though they are illegal to buy or sell in California (yet ironically, they are perfectly legal to own). We got them from this woman who went down to Southern California (where they are native) and collected some of them. Once they reached full size, they started to breed, and this was their first litter.

We received five of them on Wednesday, and they were all sold except for two by today. I knew as soon as I saw them today that I had to get one... I am obsessed with native Californian reptiles and these ones are nearly impossible to come by around here.

Here's my mom when I told her I got another snake: "Natalie! What did I tell you about no more pets? Now what do you want on your taco?". After that she completely forgot about it.

Thats awesome! I love snakes, but my dad hates them, so no snakes for me......

My mom hates them too (not scared of them, she just doesn't like them). Though she did admit that my new snake was cute.

What I found works best is to not ask if you can get it (of course the parent is going to say "no"), but to just bring it home. It's worked for me twice.

But then again, I'm also 17 and have a job and a car, so I'm pretty much independent (besides needing a place to live), so my mom pretty much just lets me do my own thing now.
