I just got a sandwich from our work cafe. It comes in one of those plastic pyramids, mustn't have been sealed correctly. The bread was so dry my nail made a scraping noise as I scraped across it.

That I rarely have sandwiches makes it worse, wanted a nice one too!

What's the most ordinary thing you've been subjected to at your work or school?

Probably the sarnie that was labelled as dairy-free when it in fact had butter on it.

That was a unpleasant evening to say the least

I like to think that whoever designed marine life was thinking of it as basically an entertainment medium. That would explain some of the things down there, some of the unearthly biological contraptions

Oh, where do I start! My elementary/Junior high food was ALWAYS bad. no matter what we had, you can count on it to be terrible. The worst thing was probably "monster sized hot grinder" Alright 1, it was not hot, 2 it wasn't big, 3 the meat was dry, and 4, the cheese wasn't melted at all. thank god that I start High School this year, we get great food now!

"Red Death", "White Death", "Turkey Slop", "Fish Slop" and the "Ladmo" sack. These are some of the names Sheriff Joe's inmates give their meals. Several the jail's meals are really nasty, but contrary to popular beleif, we do not serve green balogna (it's actualy salami).

Meh, I've seen some bad stuff, but where I currently work, the worst I've seen... well, smelled, rather, was a batch of clam chowder. Now, I don't eat the stuff, anyway, but one week it smelled fine, the other time I happened to be in there when they were serving it, it smelled nasty. Like that nasty fish smell you get around piers and such. It was not a good smell... I hope no one ate that batch of soup.

~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~

Half a pita bread with tuna fish stuffed in it. And that was all we got that day.

I hope no one ate it either... Seafood only gets that "fishy" smell when it's starting to rot.

I was over in the middle east a few months back conducting inspections on the oil tankers in the delta between Iran and Iraq (the Shaat Al Arab Delta I believe). All we would get sent to eat for the workday(18-20 hours at a time) was a trashbag with a loaf of stale bread, warm jelly, and a partial jar of peanut butter. And if that wasn't bad enough, you had to fight the flies for your food. They were always getting stuck in the peanut butter. I lost 35 pounds on that diet.
