I'm wondering what everyone else is paying for electricity. I understand that its been summer in my neck of the woods, but my bill has jumped from an average of 90 dollars a month to 317 dollars? The only thing on during the day are the fish tanks and equipment, and my reptiles' heat lamps. What is everyone else paying?

Mine was $24 last month...just got this months in the mail yesterday ( yippie).

I'm very aware about my electricity usage. Run what I need for the tanks but I keep in mind my heating habits in winter and don't keep fish that can't handle a range of temps.

Well, this time last year my bill was running about $125 there abouts...this last bill came and it is $167 and some change I know I keep the a/c set to 70* there abouts, heck i'm sweating to and from work right now ]:| a/c in truck seems to have bit the dust in the last bit of fits And if I'm too warm there is no sleeping possible...so 70* is about as "warm" as I can keep it and still get any sleepmaybe a degree or two warmer, but why have a seriously crabby teacher so yes, it's gone up...

A buddy of mine's was running $175-$200 last summer, this summeruh her last bill she told me was closer to $600, gotta love Reliant Energy here in Houston]:|probably the reason I gave them up

I am paying $90 a month for a 2 bedroom apt. But I am running 8 tanks, dishwasher, washer & dryer and have to pay for the hot water.

Around $180-$200 a quarter, plus gas for the stove, oven and hot water, but that's usually only about $30 a quarter. Surprisingly little, especially for winter - i definitely expected it to be more what with the tank heater on and the air con heater on a lot of the time.

Our worst this year was for July, a bit over $200. The bill says it was an actual reading and 'KWH Used 1952'.

We have a 3 bedroom apartment on the top floor but the big problem is all of our windows face SW and the window coverings are garbage ]:|

I have 9 tanks running, ranging in size from 2.5g to 75g. Because of the air temp I've noticed the heaters haven't been on, so it's just filters, lights, and air pumps on a couple.

During the day the tv isn't on, I just don't watch it. I shut lights off when I leave a room and actually use candles more often than lights, simply because I like them better.

I guess for us it will balance out because heat here is gas and that's included in our rent.
