ok so everyone says put the old tank water in a garden so it doesnt go to waste. its also suppose to be good for the plants. well i tried it and my plants get a nice dose of tank water every 3-7 days. i wanted to compare with and without fish water incase the difference was small. well...the difference is so insanely obvious i had to share lol. following are 4 links to 4 different rose bushes. the 1st 3 had fish water and the final one did not.

pic1

pic2

pic3

and pic4

needless to say...im convinced lol. we had a very odd spring that went from rain to hot in no time so as you can see the one with out felt every bit of that. the ones with fish water are not only 3 TIMES the size as last yr but faired far better then the 4th by leaps and bounds.

well thats my project for the yr...hope im not the only one impressed lol.

Definitely wow! I try to remember to save some fish water but I usually think of it after it's down the drain

Pretty roses, I like the color /:'

Wow, perhaps we should try watering my mom's poor orchid with tank water (looking slightly chlorotic)... would make sense that it would do well. Especially from a planted tank, which we fertilize as well (so it's also got some of those great micronutrients we put into the tank)

I did the same type of experiment, but with 'bout 10 hostas. I watered 4 of 'em w/ a little tank water every 2 weeks or so, and the rest got whatever fell from the sky. The ones that got the tank water got to be roughly twice the size of the other ones

I got pics, but they're after mom decided that they looked stupid because of the difference and gave the littler ones a bunch of ferts I'll have to find 'em tho...I'll prolly post 'em up tomarrow...

BTW, the roses look good
