I bought 2 small sized pots for my 55 gallon. I have two german rams that tend to have taken territorial rights to each side of the tank. 1 ram to the left the other to the right. Both sides are heavily planted with the middle left open for a future school of some sorts. My question is how do I prepare the pots. These are the standard red clay Wally World pots that I gave 58c for. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I just pour boiling water over mine and let them sit for half an hour then give them a scrub with a brush, rinse and put them in the tank.

Not sure if you are planning on placing them in the tank whole, or are going to attempt to place holes or even cut them in half. The best way to do this is with a "Dremel" type drill/cutting tool if you are.

make sure the bits are masonary bits.
if you cut them in half use a hacksaw with a masonary blade.

I just boil them for 15 min & them soak them in cold water. Leave them in water for a day & then i place them in the tank. Make sure that they are new & not used with any chemicals.

And if you do any cutting or breaking make sure to file the edges as they can be quite sharp.
