Make sure that they don't alter the water parameters much & make sure that the fish will be Ok. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

If you've got fish that will appreaciate this than that's fine. However the other side effect is that the shells will eventually become thin and brittle after a while (doesn't take all that long) and may break leaving sharp edges. I'd make sure to test the rocks as well just to ensure that there won't be too much of a ph shift from them as well. ^_^[hr width='40%'] The life, the love, You die to heal. LITTLE_FISH ***** Little Fish ***** Master of Something Posts: 7303 Kudos: 1997 Votes: 670 Registered: 20-May-2005 | I just came back from Long Island and added a few rocks to my tank that I found along the shore (in the water, permanently submersed). I scrubbed them under hot water and placed them in the tank right away. I just hope that the only thing leaking from them would be salt and as it is only a few rocks with flat surfaces it should not matter. I will let you know if it was not the best idea. Ingo |
