In december of last year I started all over with my 152 gal. after having fought slime algae for a year.
Here http://community.webshots.com/user/ericweggeman are some pics of what it looks like right now.

The white stuff is styrofoam, the yellow stuf is Poly Urethane foam. The rocks and bogwood should be clear
Once the construction is finished, I will cover the styrofoam and PUR with epoxy resin mixed with pigments to make it look natural.

I hope to finish the tank by June, so the fish can be in around August/September.

Verrek een Nederlander! En ik maar denken dat ik de enige was Ik zal toch maar met engels verder gaan voor al de anderen.

I really like the background, it will look fantastic once it's finished, but I'm afraid you are going to be in an awful lot of trouble gettting the resin covering all of the foam. I made styrofoam backgrounds for my tanks and used epoxy paint to color the foam, the rough texture of the foam made it very difficult to get everything covered up and I had to use the brush from different angels to get all spots covered up. If you have the background already fixed in the tank it will be a pain to get that all covered up, I don't say it can't be done, but I promise you that you will be annoyed with it before it's finished Keep posting pics of the progress!

Dr Bonke,
je vlag doet anders vermoeden.
Overigens is er nog een Nederlander; Dutchyfish (mijn broer).

Thanks for the advice.
I'm trying to copy the method of working from a guy who builds tanks like that for a living. He sells me the materials, so that I'm sure I've got the right stuff.
Depending on the mixture, your epoxy resin will me more or less fluid/sticky. Making the right viscosity will help make the work a little easier.

I'll be sure to update the pics on webshots every now and thenn

NICE tinfoil! It looks impressive already, can't wait to see it once it's compleated.

As a side note, can we please keep it in english, I'd hate to have to delete something...really hate to have you two flaming each other and the rest of us not know it .

Very nicely done so far. Looks like it's going to be a great looking tank when done./:'

No problem, Babel,
we were just exchanging our surprise at finding another Dutchman in here...

We'll stick to English in the future.

You are much more ambitious than I am. It looks like it will be a spectacular. Be sure to post pictures of what it looks like when it is finished.

Phase 1 is now complete; alle the styrofoam and PUR work has been done. Time to start using epoxy resin and pigments!

The latest pics show the end of stage 1;
in the mean time I started dying this weekend.
I'm not happy with the results sofar, but there's an advantage to working with epoxy: if you don't like the results; just paint it again. (It needs 4 layers of resin anyway...)

Like the overall layout. It's going to be a great setup when you're finished.
