Florite Fun! | |
ReikoX Hobbyist Posts: 71 Kudos: 306 Votes: 14 Registered: 29-Jun-2004 | My wife and I finally decided to do a planted tank. We decided to go with florite! : So first I went out and got a 50 gallon tub to hold the fish for an hour or so. We emptied the tank and put the fish in the tub with the filter. Next we rinsed and added the florite. Then replanted our little plants and placed the hornwort. Once filled up the water was murky. My flame tetras didn't seem to mind too much though. Overall I'm quite pleased with how the tank is comming along. I may even be ready for the aquascaping contest before the deadline! I want to add some more white gravel to the right end of the tank and build up the bonsai a little higher. It was quite fun though. I couldn't stand how it would cloud up at the first little THOUGHT of me moving anything in the tank. I must say, though, the plants DID love that stuff. ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~ |

Any chance of finding some scraggley rocks to use to raise it up. I think it'd really help the windswept look. OH!!! and once you get some more live plants, get a powerhead and place it behind the bonsai pointed in the that the wind had "shaped" the tree. That way any plants will be following along with the tree :88). ^_^ |
