OLD THREAD:http://www.fishprofiles.com/interactive/forums/thread.asp?id=34247&page=3

Most of the pictures have gone from that thread now and it was getting rather off-topic, so this is TAKE TWO

I finally found my slate its a purply red black colour...

And i have some bamboo...

And my red rocks

And SOME sand

Now, i'm looking for a strong bold statement wile still looking a little bit *zen garden* and being very functional.

I want the slate to form a 3 tiered tower to give the axies more room to move away from each other and to give the,m the chance to hide or sit near the surface.

I want the substrate to NOT collect detritus, so no piles of stones that food can hide in.

I want the anubias to look really classy, very nice lines, very 'simple' and clean

Here are my supplies to give you an idea of colour.

And the tank itself, currently a leftovers bin, also has a breeder net for B in it and a netted ball of java moss

I spose a raked substrate is out of the question considering axies will not give a flying one and trot over your freshly meditated sand.

hmmm.

gimme a while i'll see what i can think of

Raked sand might work....if you uses some silicone to design it in the pattern needed then leave a layer ontop for him to play in?

Falstaf did a great mock up with japanese characters....I'd just come across it again a few moments ago...can't find it for the life of me ].<

they actually leave really sweet little toe prints in the sand, so i'm not sure i want a raked one... BUT, i might do it in areas and leave some areas plain, that way i could attach it to acetone and just bury the edges... thaat would still allow for the bamboo uprights on the glass sheet

I like the simplicity of the second to last tank. The bamboo looks nice, too.

I like where this tank is going.

Maybe tie some baby Java Ferns onto the knotchy parts of the bamboo?
