Painted terra cotta | |
katieb Fish Addict Posts: 697 Votes: 69 Registered: 03-Jul-2004 | My local nursery has terra cotta pots with paint on them. It looked like the paint was sealed with a veneer(sp)/glaze. Does that sound aquarium safe? Kinda like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=20516&item=4313454140&rd=1 <Not buying, just an example. I'll do graffiti, If you sing to me in French. |

Terra cottas to look for would be like : http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/auction/auction.cgi?decorations&1090609815 . No glazes, paints, and it should be made from inert materials. Flower pots from gardening centers at department stores ususally fit that desc I wouldn't use painted/glazed pots unless you knew there was no chance of a leaching of harmful substances in the even of it breaking in the tank, as these things do happen. |
