Posts: 9662 Kudos: 5261 Registered: 16-Sep-2001 | OK, this tank is 26 gallons and VERY overstocked, so i need plants that allow for hidey holes, but that dont have a big footprint. I dont know if i want bushy or sparse so i can see all the fish without hunting.... And yes, i'd like to keep the rocks, but i *might* be willing to compromise if the design is eyecatching enough and inexpensive. I really am attached to the rocks tho.... |

bensaf Fish Master Posts: 1978 Kudos: 1315 Registered: 08-Apr-2004 | Hmmmm Hidey holes but small footprint. Ludwigia Repens: Smaller leaves and more of them then the the stricta. I've got a few big bunches and it's a favorite chill out spot. Let it grow to the surface and growth will explode and get very branchy (more hidey holes). It takes about 4 weeks to settle in before you see ANY growth. Bacopa : Small footprint , leaves close together, looks good in bunches. Not a terribly d=fast grower so low maintenance, very undemanding, but very pretty. Rotala Indica : Again nice small footprint, but produces lots of side shoots so more hi.......you get the picture Remember that age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability. |
