I have a collection of rocks I have gathered on various travels here and there... Is it ok to use those in my aquarium after rinsing/soaking? Some of them are really great looking!

I always leave them in sea water for a week or so & then rinse them & use them. There are some rocks that can alter the water parameters & it all depends on which fish you're going to keep.

yes, I can give them the vinegar test, and if they don't fizz I can then let them sit for a few days in tank water after I do a water change... I'd just love to see how they look in my tank...

You can also use Rock (sea) Salt with tank water & leave them there for a few days.

The vinegar test is also effective.

Sorry but i don't know. Maybe you can ask somebody else.

Rock salt is salt made from sea water, but not refined & used as table sale. I buy it from supermarkets but i'm not sure where you can get it in the US.

You can get rock salt in the US at any hardware store.
