I have a recent pic up in the general marine forum [link=here]http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/forums/General%20Marine/64919.html?7175845E-02#" style="COLOR: #FFD700[/link]. As I stated in my post there I was hoping for a crescent fomation with some overhangs and caves and whatnot. If there's anybody out there who is good at stacking legos maybe you could help me create that effect.

This would be a very crude diagram and will require a strong imagination on your part.

This is another idea I was tossing around. Might look silly though.

hmm that doesn't look appropriate for a family oriented site

I think I get what you're looking fro from the rockscape.

Something to keep in mind...like with legos you have a limit to how far you can go before it all tips over....keep the base as wide and stable as possible....and you'll be able to have more of an overhang. I'm sure you've considered how the overhang will effect the ammount of light that gets to the bottom....in which case you might consider leaving cracks in the overhang to allow light to filter down.

Side view of what I think you're talking about

Thanks babel,

Oops...I forgot to mention that my views were top views. I didn't necessarily want it all to be an overhang, maybe a few here and there, but the idea is interesting. Maybe I'll try to find a few more flat peices. Here's my sorry attempt at a 3D type drawing in paint of my first top view, let me know what you think:

Oh yes I like that setup, looks very natural and stable. great job matty. I can see fish hanging out under the overhang, in plain view yet still in hiding and also can see some deeper water corals thriving under the overhang or an anemone or something similar, still not to familiar with SW inverts and their lighting preferences.

Thanks Megil - yes something like sun polyps would do very well under that overhang, good idea .
