Terra Cotta? | |
questor Hobbyist Posts: 62 Kudos: 42 Votes: 1 Registered: 24-Apr-2005 | Can regular gardener's terra cotta pots be safely used as decor in tanks? I'm thinking the color would be awesome and a pot with the bottom broken out, laying on its side partly buried in the gravel would make a terrific little cave??? |

Just to add to what SheKoi said, try your local craft shops and flower-arranging stores, as they often have slightly more unusual pots and urns. Also, don't get them if they are stored right next to the pesticides at the garden shop, not a good thing |

If you do any cutting or breaking though make sure to sand or file down any rough edges before adding to your tank. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |

Before putting them in the tank, just soak them for a day in clean water & scrub them a bit with your hands. Remember to eliminate any sharf edges, as the fish might hurt themselves. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.deathbydyeing.org/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |
