Terracotta Pots Warning | |
tessa38uk Big Fish Posts: 466 Kudos: 586 Votes: 121 Registered: 11-Mar-2004 | Hi friends just a little warning if you have terracotta pots in your tank please make sure there are no fish in it before you try to remove it. Today I was cleaning out the tank I had removed everything bar this terracotta pot I went to lift it out and there was a few fish in it some panicked as they do and rushed out the pot but there was a spotty Cory in there with them and as the panicked and fled the poor Cory panicked and went the other way trying to get through the little hole in the back the Poor boy got stuck fast and I mean really stuck he could not get out front ways or back ways he struggled and struggled I gently pushed but could not get him out in the end I managed to release him by gently pushing his top fin down and holding is bottom fins in but boy what a shock it was. I have left the pots out for now. The Cory seems to be ok at the moment I shall keep an eye on him. http://www.greenspersonalprinting.com/ |

Either that or break the hole to the point where it can be a tunnel for anyone. In other words, it's wide enough to allow access by any of your fish. There's been warnings about this in the past, and is generally mentioned when suggested pots in the first place. *shrugs* ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~ |

Fish are quite delicate, so take care. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

Due to panicking he rubbed a nasty sore on his body just before his top fin starts. Which i used melafix for? He recovered really well then 3months after i just found him floating i was gutted as you can imgain!! |
