Here's my divided 5 gallon. It has a male betta on one side and a female on the other. Is there anything I can do to make it look nicer? I plan on adding a black background soon.

They shade the glow of it with their mossy-misty costumes,
They wear masks of silk, porcelain, brass, and silver,
So as not to mislead with their own, ordinary faces.

Personally - the background will help alot! And I'd add a small piece of driftwood, or make large rock caves for them to lounge in. Or on one side do more rocks and the other side add some driftwood.

Katie, it is a minibow 5 gallon tank. I just replaced the crappy incandescant bulb with a screw-in compact flourescant bulb.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Can I ask what you used to divide the tank? I have a tank similar to that.

I used those dividers you can buy. I looked all over for the stuff to make my own, and I just couldn't find it. I got the divider for $4.99 because it was mislabeled.

Hmm - made my dividers on my 10 that I'm currently setting up hehe. Used the plastic needlepoint canvas cut to inside dimensions of the tank, and the plastic report covers (that have that piece of plastic that you can take off and looks like a long tube triangle) and aquarium silicon - and it's looking good so far. But I can't see it
Added flourite and now my tank is permanently pukish brown

they look too much like mirror images. forget the divider for a sec and just scape it normally, THEN fit the divider (if you have to leave the divider in, try to mentally blot it out while you scape.

The only thing that bugs me is the water is a bit yellow, might just be from the lighting though . Adding some more plants will help.

Yellow? I see no yellow.... maybe it's just me.

I got more rocks in there, and a pice of driftwood. Once the driftwood decides to actually fully sink (] I'll get a new pic.
